Remarkably, there have only been eight official distillery releases of Teaninich since it’s establishment in 1817 – nearly 200 years ago. This Flora ’n’ fauna bottling is currently (and still) the only available & affordable distillery bottling, priced at £43 (Oct ’16].
- N: It’s got quite a Speyside character for a Highlander, not that the distillery is many miles away from the region. Very floral and fruity [oranges] in the main.
- T: Nutty, sweet grain with dried orange fruits and pears later
- F: ….. then a waxy, spicy fade into a soft & mild grain finish, Plums at the death and ultimately a residue of gritty grain.
- C: Another session dram but one that fails to ‘Catch a fire’ – nice but unforgettable. The nose lives up to it’s name though, it’s so flora[l].
